Announcement
The Universidade Estadual do Maranhão (UEMA) hereby publishes the definitive list of candidates who have been granted exemption from the enrollment fee for the 2024 academic year.
Process
This exemption process was conducted in accordance with Announcement No. 21/2024 of the Office of the President, which established the guidelines and requirements for exemption requests.
Eligibility
Candidates were eligible for exemption if they met any of the following criteria:
- Belonging to a low-income family, as defined by the Federal Government's Unified Registry for Social Programs (CadÚnico).
- Being a student of the Sesc Senac Ler Foundation.
- Having received a scholarship through the Indigenous, Quilombola, or Transvestite and Transgender Population Affirmation Program (PAFFIT).
- Being a student of the Irmão Miguel State Public School Network.
- Being a public school teacher or a candidate for a teaching position in a public education institution.
- Being a military or police officer.
- Being a disabled person or having a dependent with a disability.
- Being a victim of domestic violence.
Selection Process
The selection process was based on the analysis of the information provided by candidates in their exemption request forms. A committee composed of UEMA faculty and staff evaluated the requests and determined which candidates met the established criteria.

Additional Information
- Candidates who were not approved for exemption may appeal the decision.
- Appeals must be submitted within five business days of the publication of the final list.
- Appeals should be addressed to the Office of the President of UEMA.
