Local 10's Annual Big Book Drive Returns for its Ninth Year

Campaign Overview

Local 10 News is excited to announce the launch of its 9th Annual Big Book Drive, a community-wide initiative dedicated to providing books to children in need. The drive runs from Monday, May 29th, 2023, to Tuesday, June 6th, 2023, with the goal of collecting 100,000 books for distribution to local organizations that serve underprivileged children.

Importance of Literacy

Literacy is a fundamental pillar of personal and societal development. It empowers individuals with essential skills for communication, critical thinking, and lifelong learning. Sadly, there are still many children in our community who lack access to books, which hinders their educational progress and limits their potential.

How to Participate

Participating in the Big Book Drive is easy and meaningful. Here are the ways you can contribute:

Book Donations:

New or gently used books for children of all ages are welcome.
Books should be in good condition, with no torn or missing pages.
You can drop off your donations at any of the designated collection points listed below.

Financial Contributions:

If you prefer to make a financial contribution, you can visit the Big Book Drive website to donate online.
Your donation will be used to purchase new books for the drive.

Once the drive concludes, the collected books will be distributed to local organizations that provide literacy programs and services to underprivileged children. These include:
